What Is Industrial Floor Grating?

Industrial floor grating is a welded or press-locked steel grid system designed for permanent flooring in factories, warehouses, power plants, and processing facilities. It provides a durable, open-surface walking and working platform that allows light, air, water, and debris to pass through while supporting heavy foot traffic, forklifts, and machinery loads.

Manufactured from carbon steel with hot-dip galvanized or painted finish, industrial floor grating offers excellent corrosion resistance and long service life. Bearing bar thicknesses range from 3mm to 5mm with depths from 25mm to 50mm, providing load capacities from 250 psf to 750 psf depending on configuration.

The open-grid design reduces wind uplift on outdoor structures, allows natural lighting through elevated floors, and simplifies cleaning with self-draining characteristics. Industrial floor grating is available in plain, serrated, or I-bar configurations to optimize slip resistance and load performance for specific applications.

Características

Características y Ventajas

Superior Slip Resistance

Serrated bearing bar option provides positive traction in wet, oily, or dusty industrial environments, exceeding OSHA slip-resistance requirements for workplace safety.

Self-Cleaning Open Design

Open-grid construction allows liquids, dust, and debris to fall through, reducing slip hazards and simplifying floor cleaning in food processing, chemical, and manufacturing plants.

High Strength-to-Weight Efficiency

Delivers structural-floor strength at a fraction of the weight of solid steel plate, reducing structural steel costs for support beams and foundations.

Easy Installation & Maintenance

Modular panels with saddle clips or perimeter weld attachment allow fast installation and individual panel removal for equipment access or replacement.

Customizable Cutouts & Sizes

Factory-fabricated cutouts for pipes, columns, and equipment penetrations ensure a perfect fit without field modification, saving installation time.

Long-Term Corrosion Resistance

Hot-dip galvanized finish per ASTM A123 provides 20+ years of corrosion protection in indoor and outdoor industrial environments.
